The marina sits in five acres at the head of the navigable River Thames, in the Cotswold market town of Lechlade.
We have 100 berths, accommodating cruisers, narrow boats, wide beams and house boats, surrounded by a well-maintained natural environment of trees and shrubs. The marina is unique in its design, having a series of channels running off a central waterway, with two entrances/exits direct onto the river Thames. Some of the moorings have vehicular access, while those on the peninsula and island have pedestrian access.
We provide moorers with water points and electric hook-ups, as well as access to showers, loos and Elsan disposal facilities. The marina also has secure car parking, on-shore boat storage and a slipway for launching day boats, cruisers, rowing boats and canoes.

With mature trees offering a high degree of privacy and a growing wildlife population that includes water voles, kingfishers, swans and ducks, the marina is the perfect tranquil retreat. At the same time, it’s just 3 minutes’ walk into the lovely market town of Lechlade, where there’s a range of pubs, cafés and shops, including a mini-market, bank and post office.
Diesel, petrol, coal and gas can be bought in Lechlade and a pump-out facility is available just downstream at St John’s lock.
Lechlade Marina is perfectly located for exploring this Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, with the Thames Path trail running along the opposite bank and Cirencester, Cheltenham, Burford and Oxford all within easy reach by car.
About Ian and Jules
Ian, a chartered surveyor with 25 years’ experience managing private rural estates, has led the restoration of Lechlade Marina and primarily handles the day-to-day running of the business and maintenance work. Drawing on her 25 years’ experience as a bookkeeper and office manager, Jules deals with the bulk of the administration to make sure everything runs smoothly behind the scenes.
Both Ian and Jules are on hand to meet with moorers and slipway users, ensuring all customers enjoy great service and a first-rate experience at the marina.
